VMC renovates pastoral center

The Victorias Milling Company (VMC) recently turned over the renovated Pastoral Center in the St. Michael the Archangel quasi parish in Barangay Purisima, Manapla for the use of the parish and the community.

Bishop Gerry Alminaza of the Diocese of San Carlos officiated the mass and blessed the center, which will serve as the central venue for church activities and special occasions for the parishioners.

Alminaza thanked VMC for their support in renovating the dilapidated structure and for always being there for the church the community.

Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante III, wife Lourdes, and daughter, Councilor Michaela “Mika” Escalante, attended the concelebrated mass and thanked VMC for their continued support.

VMC president Linley Retirado said that the company will always support the betterment of their constituency, not just physically and socially, but also in their spiritual journey.

VMC administrative officer, lawyer Eva Rodriguez, said that the center is also envisioned to provide shelter to the people during calamities and other activities that will foster unity as well as enable the parish to be a listening church that will bring families together and create a great sense of pride in the community.

The turnover and blessing was held during the feast day of St. Michael the Archangel, who is also the patron saint of Barangay Purisima, a press statement from VMC said. ||
