A total of 202 senior citizens from Victorias City received P10,000 each under the Expanded Centenarian Act of 2024, while 1,246 indigent elderly received their fourth-quarter social pension, during the payout at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center Oct. 27.
The cash assistance, provided under Republic Act 11982, was granted to qualified senior citizens 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100 years old.
It covered 137 recipients from March 17 to Dec. 31, 2024, and 65 recipients from January to October 2025.

Indigent senior citizens also received P3,000 each as fourth-quarter social pension in the distribution led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI, in coordination with the city government of Victorias under the leadership of Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office, headed by City Social Welfare and Development officer Joy Reunir.
The stipend was for the months of October to November this year, the city said in a press release Oct. 28.
The assistance aims to help the elderly in meeting their daily needs, and reflects the strong collaboration between the national and local governments in ensuring the welfare of senior citizens and recognizing their significant role in the community. ||
