Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez said that he is sending a letter to the Department of Agriculture (DA) to formalize his request for irrigation system, farm-to-market roads, fertilizers and machineries.
Benitez met with Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. on Jan. 3, where he discussed with the DA chief innovative strategies for agricultural development and sustainable growth.
He also informed Laurel of the city government’s commitment to triple the local budget for agriculture.
Benitez further said that Laurel verbally committed to helping Victorias City’s agriculture programs.
He also announced that there will be a collaboration between DA and Victorias City to establish a demonstration farm to showcase new fertilizers.
Benitez said that he is looking forward to a new era in agricultural development in Victorias City. | GB
