Vailoces bested four contenders in the Battle of the Champions, and took home P20,000 in cash prize and a trophy.

The first-ever Tawag ng Tanghalan champion and Victorias City’s pride, Noven Belleza, was the guest performer during the grand finals night.

Julie Anne Pumanes Reyes, a former member of The Philippine Madrigal Singers and is currently with the ABS-CBN Star Magic Workshops as a vocal coach and teacher; events coordinator Peggy Salas; and recording artist Faustino Macaya were the members of the panel of judges, the city said in a press release March 25.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez graced the event, and wished that the event “would inspire more aspiring singing champions to bring their talent to bigger stages so that the world can know more about how rich our city is, not only in terms of our biodiversity, but also world-class talents.”

The Tingog sang Kadalag-an grand finals was held at the Sidlak Victorias Global City, and was one of the highlight events in celebration of the city’s 26th Kadalag-an Festival.

Two other crowd-drawing events over the weekend were the “Splash: A Kadalag-an Runway and Pool Party” at the Victorias Aquatic Center, and the Ben&Ben concert at the Sidlak Victorias Global City, both held March 23.

The pool party had DJs Iñaki, Murphy, Leandro Zayco and the Patiqueros entertaining guests and revelers with music hits.

It also featured a summer collection runway fashion show, showcasing the works of designers Chino Christopherson and Jeremiah Gazo; and poolside games.

Beauty queens Pauline Amelinckx and Billie Hakenson were some of the personalities, who added spark to the party.

That night, an estimated 13,000 Ben&Ben fans crowded the Sidlak Global City, and sang along with the band.

Ben&Ben surprised the crowd when they sang songs rarely performed live, including “Masyado Pang Maaga”, and “Lifetime”. Some of the greatest hits performed were “Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay”, “Araw Araw”, “Ride Home”, and “Kathang Isip”. ||
