Victorias grants scholarship certificates to 103 scholars

One-hundred and three Victorias City scholars received scholarship certificates during the Victorias City Scholarship and Educational Assistance Program signing of agreement and awarding of certificates at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center Aug. 7.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, who is also the Victorias City Scholarship and Educational Assistance Committee (VCSEAC) chairman, signed the memorandum of agreement alongside Committee members Richard Julius Sablan, councilors Derek Palanca and Eric Alcobilla, City HRMO Ana Liza Fuentes, City Planning and Development coordinator and VCSEAC executive officer Evangeline Alo, NODRFI administrator and VCSEAC member Myrtle Lamboso, and Allana Montepio of the Office of Congressman Kiko Benitez.

Paulyn Lucendo, Bea Angel Alba, Arjay Dacion, and Pearlyn Joy Arucan participated in the ceremonial signing, on behalf of the scholars, the city said in a press release Aug. 8.

The Victorias LGU signed the MOA for college grantees with Mapua Malayan Digital College and Central Philippine State University, and with Don Bosco Technical Institute and Laura Vicuña Women Development Training Center for technical and vocational grantees.

Mayor Javi congratulated the grantees and shared words of encouragement, as he expressed hope that all the scholars would complete their studies.

He emphasized the importance of education in shaping their future, and urged them to remain dedicated to their academic pursuits.

The mayor also announced that all city scholars would receive Christmas gifts as token of appreciation and support from the local government.

He stressed that this gesture aims to motivate the scholars and acknowledge their hard work and perseverance.

There are 33 college scholars and 70 grantees for the technical vocational scholarship, which were screened and evaluated by the VCSEAP secretariat and interviewed by the VCSEAC members.

City and barangay officials, department heads, and other stakeholders also graced the ceremonial MOA signing and awarding of scholarship certificates, together with CPSU-Victorias Quality Assurance director Glenny Jungco, LVWTDC technical directress Sr. Ernielyn Deypalan, and MMDC representative Joanne Lesaca. ||
