Valladolid cop, partner die in ‘murder-suicide’ incident

A police officer allegedly shot himself after killing his live-in partner in Barangay Saguabanwa, Valladolid, Negros Occidental Thursday night.

A certain Larry, with a rank of master sergeant, and his partner, a 33-year-old widow, were both declared dead on arrival at the Valladolid District Hospital, the police said.

Initial investigation of the Valladolid Police Station showed the 40-year-old police officer and his partner figured in a heated argument.

According to the police report, the policeman used his service firearm in shooting his partner several times, resulting in a fatal wound in her head.

He then proceeded to also shoot himself and succumbed to wounds in the lower chin and right temple.

A caliber 9mm pistol with a magazine containing nine ammunition, three bullet shells and three slugs, and a cellular phone were recovered at the scene of incident. | GB
