The Department of Education in Negros Island Region (DepEd-NIR) will be led by Ramir Uytico, the outgoing regional director of DepEd-Western Visayas, agency officials have announced.
Anthony Liobet, the current schools division superintendent of Negros Occidental, has been designated as the officer-in-charge (OIC) assistant regional director for DepEd-NIR.
Hernani Escullar, spokesperson of DepEd-Western Visayas, said that Uytico will be succeeded by Cristito Eco, the assistant regional director for DepEd-National Capital Region, as the OIC the regional director for DepEd-Western VIsayas.
Escullar said Liobet will still continue to head the DepEd in Negros Occidental in a concurrent capacity.
“We are now preparing for the transfer of leadership to the concerned DepEd officials,” he added.
The DepEd-NIR regional office is located in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
In a Facebook post, the DepEd-Western Visayas regional office congratulated Uytico and Liobet for their new appointments.
“Your vision, dedication, and commitment to quality education will undoubtedly inspire and uplift the entire Negros Island Region,” it said. | GB
