The University of St. La Salle (USLS) marks a significant milestone as it launches today, Oct. 7, its Iloilo campus at Gateway Hotel in Pavia.

The establishment of its second school in Western Visayas was made possible through USLS’ partnership with Property Company of Friends Inc. (Profriends).

“We are thrilled with the launching of USLS-Iloilo, as this partnership with Profriends opens new avenues for educational opportunities and community development, allowing us to better serve the needs of the region,” USLS president, Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez, said in a statement.

The establishment of the Iloilo campus will introduce business programs that align with the Lasallian mission of teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming lives.

Founded in 1952 by the De La Salle Brothers in Bacolod City, USLS is a leading Catholic educational institution in Negros Occidental, known for its top-tier academic programs spanning basic education, undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees, as well as specialized offerings in law and medicine.

The expansion of USLS in Iloilo, in collaboration with Profriends and following the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement and deeds of donation, is deemed pivotal as it promises to foster stronger academe-industry linkages while providing holistic Lasallian education in Panay, the educational institution said.

Profriends, a subsidiary of Maplecrest Group Inc., has played an instrumental role in the growth of Pavia since it began developing communities in Iloilo in 2007, with Parc Regency Residences and Monticello Villas.

The launching is expected to be attended by key university administrators, partners from Profriends, and representatives from local government units. ||
