Mayor Irene Montilla said Dec. 10 that the 447 job order casuals of the Isabela municipal government had already been paid of their salaries, covering the Oct. 16 to Nov. 30 work period.
This was after the Sangguniang Bayan finally approved her request for an authority to augment the number of job order casuals hired by the municipal government, Montilla said.
Vice Mayor Renato Malabor Jr., who is challenging Montilla for mayor in the May 2022 elections, and his allies in the SB, asked for the list of JOs and their contracts prior to the approval of the supplemental budget that includes the funds for the salaries of JOs.
Montilla also said several of her requests, including payables, augmentation for fuel, and the Annual Investment Plans, among others, are still pending approval by the SB.
The delay has crippled the delivery of basic services to Isabeleños, she added./GB
