Two bodies were found in separate areas of Negros Occidental July 8, the police said.
The first body, later named as alias “Aljon”, was discovered at around 7:45 a.m. at the back of a warehouse in Purok Cabacawan, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.
The Bacolod City Police Office Station 4 said that alias “Aljon”, of Purok Hervias 3 in the barangay, was found half-naked, with no visible external injuries or wounds, or bloodstains in the area.
Another body of a man, already in an advanced state of decomposition, was found at around 10:15 a.m. in Purok Saging, Barangay Canturay, Sipalay City.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said the 27-year-old victim was a resident of the purok, and had been suffering from epilepsy for the past 20 years, per his father.
The victim had been missing for seven days prior to the discovery of his body, the police added.
Meanwhile, the Bago City Police Station and the Bacolod City Police Office have launched a joint investigation following the discovery of the body wrapped in plastic and packaging tape in a sugarcane plantation July 2.
BCPO director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, said July 8 that they are tracing the events that transpired in Bacolod before the victim was found dead across city lines in Purok Langka, Barangay Pacol, Bago.
The victim was identified as Raymart Roxas, 26, of Purok Adarna, Barangay 16 in Bacolod City, who worked as barker at the Bacolod public plaza.
Roxas’ body was discovered by plantation workers near an irrigation canal, tightly bound in plastic, a bedsheet, and packaging tape.
While Rebadomia noted that Roxas had previous charges for illegal gambling, he believed that gambling was not the primary motive behind the killing.
The BCPO has committed its full resources to assist the Bago police in reviewing local security footage and tracking down the perpetrator/s. | TMD
