TUPV alumnus Top 1 in PRC electronics engineering exams

Niele Shem Geronimo Bañas, an alumnus of the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas (TUPV) based in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, topped the Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination (EELE), as per results released by the Professional Regulation Commission April 17.

Bañas, with a rating of 91.80 percent, led the 1,330 passers out of the 3,130 EELE examinees in the exams simultaneously administered last week by the Board of Electronics Engineering in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, and Tuguegarao.

The PRC also said that 1,819 out of 2,538 passed the Electronics Technicians Licensure Examination, topped by Dexter Pelaez Astorga of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sto. Tomas, with a rating of 95 percent.

TUPV is the top performing school, with a 93.06 percent passing rate, after 67 of its 72 examinees hurdled the Electronics Technicians exams, the PRC added.

Registration for the issuance of professional identification card and certificate of registration will be done online, starting on May 20, while the date and venue for the oathtaking of the passers will be announced later. | CGC
