The Victorias City government facilitated payouts for 181 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (Tupad) program, and educational assistance to 260 PWD students.

The Tupad payout, with funds from the Office of Senator Grace Poe, was facilitated by the city Public Employment Service Office, with each of the 181 beneficiaries getting P4,800 April 3, at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center.

The Tupad program of the Department of Labor and Employment offers temporary employment opportunities for 10 to 30 days, and benefits those in need of work, showcasing the government’s commitment to enhancing community welfare, the city said in a press release April 5.

Beneficiaries, including women, persons with disabilities, and fire victims from Barangay V, were engaged in community projects, such as waste management, infrastructure repair, and environmental tasks.

The program not only provides employment but also contributes to community improvement, the city said.

The local government unit also distributed educational assistance to 260 PWD students, also at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Cultural Center, recently.

Each beneficiary received P1,500 in cash, as educational assistance for the first quarter of 2024.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office, headed by Joy Reunir, facilitated the payout in coordination with the City Treasurer’s Office and Persons with Disability Affairs Office. ||
