The Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUP-V) based in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, produced two topnotchers in the October Chemical Technician Licensure Examination, as per the result released by the Professional Regulation Commission tonight, Oct. 25.
TUP-V alumni Christian Rey Salinio dela Cruz placed Top 1, with a 94 percent rating, while Razel Chiva Sobrevilla landed in the 5th spot with a 92 percent rating, the PRC said.
The school is also the top performer, with all 65 of its examinees among the 2,204 passers, out of the 2,588 who took the licensure exam given by the Board of Chemistry in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Tacloban, and Zamboanga earlier this month.
Dela Cruz shared the Top 1 honors with Carlos Antonio Concepcion from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and Jopette Marie Villas of Eastern Visayas State University Tacloban.
The PRC also said that 284 out of 731 passed the Chemist Licensure Examination, with Carmel Rose Malones Rolloque of UPLB in Top 1 with a 91.30 percent rating. The results were released in four working days after the last day of examinations.
“Those who failed to pass the board examination for Chemist but had obtained a rating of at least 70 percent in any two subjects can register as Chemical Technician,” the PRC added.
