A tricycle driver was declared dead on arrival at the Bago City Hospital after he was shot over a parking dispute in front of a hardware store in Purok Masulhay, Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City in Negros Occidental at about 10:15 this morning, Feb. 21.

The police identified the fatality as Efraim Alinsoring, 30, of Purok Sampaguita in Barangay Binubuhan, Bago.

Alinsoring’s brother, Joemel, told the responding personnel of the Bago City Police Station, led by P/Lt. Dan Oliver Salazar and duty investigator P/MSgt. Mars Anthony, that he and the suspects, one of them identified as a certain Joshua, had a heated argument over the parking of their motorcycle.

The suspects left on board a black Barako motorcycle but returned a few minutes later, and a back-rider alighted and kicked Joemel.

Efraim, who saw that his brother was attacked, punched the suspect, who drew a still unknown caliber of gun and shot him.

The suspects fled after the shooting incident, while Efraim was rushed to the Bago City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician, the police said, adding that pursuit operation was ongoing, as of press time. — SGG
