Tribu Busico wins San Carlos’ drumbeating competition anew

Tribu Busico, composed of barangays 4, 5, and Buluangan, once again won the Vamos Drumbeating Competition, at the San Carlos City Hall grounds June 29.

The group, also the winner of last year’s competition, took home P30,000 in cash prize and a plaque.

The Proguados of barangays Guadalupe and Prosperidad, was second placer and received P25,000, while the Sobian Tribe of barangays Rizal, Palampas, and Nataban was in third spot and won P20,000.

Consolation prizes of P8,000 per group were given to Tresquecod of barangays 3, Quezon, and Codcod; Unobagonpun of Barangays 1, Bagonbon, and Punao; and Kanaway Sipaway.

Tribu Busico leader Yastine Jay Badal thanked fellow team members and barangay officials for their support and efforts. He said they will keep half of their prize as an emergency fund for the team, while the other half will be divided equally among themselves.

Michael Gantala Jr., Romuladi Mirasol Jr., and Luis Laurence Osmeña were the judges during the event, the city said in a press release June 30.

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo and the different punong barangays were also present during the competition to show their support.

The Proguados of barangays Guadalupe and Prosperidad was second placer.
The Sobian Tribe of barangays Rizal, Palampas, and Nataban was in third spot.

A parade, meanwhile, will be held this morning, July 1, in San Carlos City to mark its 64th Charter Day anniversary.

The Charter Day parade, which will be participated in by government employees and officials and private sector representatives, will begin at 7:30 a.m., with assembly point at the City Auditorium and Rizal Square public plaza. | SCC PIO photos
