Tribal Hall inaugurated

Children in Sitio Baslay, Brgy. Talacdan, Cauyan welcome Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Mayor John Rey Tabujara led  the inauguration of the “Tiliguman sang Tabianon Bukignon” tribal hall in Sitio Baslay, Barangay Talacdan in Cauayan town.

          The tribal hall serves as headquarters of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) living in the sitio led by their leader, Rogie Osorio.

The project was funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency in collaboration with the municipal government of Cauayan and the provincial government.

Also coordinating the completion of the project  were the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples.

Also present during the turnover rites were Cauayan Vice Mayor Anna Liza Soriano, KOICA representative Blenda Abarquez, Executive Assistant to the Governor, Marie June Castro, PSWDO Head Merle Garcia, and village chief Alberto Eramis of Barangay Talacdan, among others.
