Mayor Raymund Tongson met with officers of PrimeWater and the Himamaylan Water District to discuss and explore solutions after the city government received several complaints from residents on the quality of water.

He met with Engr. Daryl Jay Peguis, branch manager of PrimeWater Himamaylan, and Engr. Joel Gellecanao, general manager of the Himamaylan Water District, to discuss how the city government can help improve the quality of water supplied to households and businesses.

“Himamaylanons need improved access to clean and sufficient water,” Tongson stressed. “This intervention is very helpful in order to provide quick solutions to the problems brought to our office by our fellow Himamaylanons.”

The recent drought has also brought to light pressing issues in terms of accessibility to clean water during calamities and emergency situations, the mayor said.

“Rest assured that the complaints, feedback, and reports of our citizens are heard. Part of our mandate is to ensure that commodities they receive are up to standards to ensure the health and quality of living,” Tongson said in a press release.

The mayor was accompanied by city government officials, some punong barangays, and acting city fire marshal Mario Niel Joevic Eufan at the meeting. ||
