The Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Hospital in Silay City has prepared 10 beds in its Emergency Room for treatment of patients from New Year’s Eve revelry.

Hospital Chief Dr. Mary Anne Maestral said six teams of doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel are on standby to treat patients of firecracker-related incidents.

Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City is ready for firecracker-related incidents on the New Year’s eve.

This is in addition to the two teams on regular duty at the ER, as they anticipate an increase in the number of patients from midnight until tomorrow morning, she said.

Maestral added that the Hospital Chapel has been temporarily converted into an emergency treatment facility as TLJPH complies with the six-day Code White Alert status that started December 29 until January 3.

Standby medicines and surgical materials are also in place, she said.

Maestral said she expects a lower number of patients from firecracker-related incidents this year due to the pandemic.

Last year, she said they only have more than 10 cases for the whole duration of the White Alert status. | MML
