Taxpayers are urged to avail of the electronic services of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, as well as tax payment channels, in filing their annual income tax return (AITR) and paying the correct taxes.
This as BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. encouraged the early filing of AITRs and payment of full income tax, and not to wait for the deadline on April 15.
“The BIR is committed to making tax filing and payment more convenient by ensuring that our e-Filing Center and eLounges are available to assist taxpayers every step of the way,” Lumagui said in a statement. “Kung wala po kayong internet access ay maari po kayong bumisita sa eLounge ng ating mga Revenue District Office (RDO).”
He said that electronic BIR forms (eBIRForms) are available via https://www.bir.gov.ph/ebirforms, while the electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) can be accessed through https://efps.bir.gov.ph/
“Our goal is to make tax compliance easier and hassle-free for our taxpayers,” Lumagui stressed, adding the BIR will continue to enhance its services and exert more efforts to better serve the public.
Available tax payment channels include authorized agent banks (AABs), revenue collection officers, and various electronic platforms like Maya, GCash, and MYEG. The AABs have also extend their banking hours until 5 p.m., and will be open on April 12, a Saturday, to accept tax payments, the BIR said.
“Let’s pay as you file for the 2024 AITR; it can be filed and paid on or before April 15, so we can avoid hassle and penalties,” Lumagui added. | CGC
