The puller truck was driven by Jose Kenneth Verbo, 42, a resident of Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City.

Talisay City police investigators said both vehicles were running on the same direction, heading towards the south.

The prime mover overtook the motorcycle using the right side lane but hit the same in front causing the victims to fall on the road with fatal injuries in the different parts of their body.

The victims, the local police said, attended a family gathering in Talisay City proper.

The truck, owned by Lopez Sugar Corp., and was on its way to the Ma-ao transloading station in Bago City.

The Talisay City rescue team rushed the victims to the City Health clinic, where they were declared dead on arrival.

Verbo is currently detained at the Talisay City Police Station.

Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide and damage to property are being readied against him. – MML
