Suspects in killing of Degamo nabbed

Three suspects in the killing of Gov. Roel Degamo and several others were intercepted and arrested during coordinated pursuit operations of the police and Philippine Army in Sitio Punong, Brgy. Cansumalig, Bayawan, Negros Oriental, at about 4:20 this afternoon, March 4.

One of three suspects, Joben Aber, 42, is a resident of Brgy. Robles, La Castellana town in Negros Occidental, the police said, adding that he used to be a member of the elite Scout Ranger unit of the Philippine Army.

The two other apprehended suspects were identified as Joric Labrador, 50, of Lanuso, Cagayan de Oro, a former member of the Philippine Army, and Benjie Rodriguez, 45, of Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental.

Pursuit operations are still ongoing against other suspects, the police said./GB
