Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 is still hoisted over the extreme northern portion of Antique and the northwestern portion of Aklan, among several areas in the Visayas, as “Rolly” weakened into a typhoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration said in its latest bulletin.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is in effect over the rest of northern portion of Antique, the rest of Aklan, Capiz, the northern portion of Iloilo, the northern portion of Cebu, including Bantayan Islands, Biliran, the rest of Samar, the rest of Eastern Samar, and the northern portion of Leyte, the state weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin today, Nov. 1.
Signal No. 4 is still hoisted over Metro Manila, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, the northern portion of Sorsogon, Burias Island, Marinduque, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Pampanga, Bulacan, the southern portion of Aurora, Bataan, the southern portion of Zambales, the northwestern portion of Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, and the northern portion of Oriental Mindoro, all in Luzon, PAGASA added.
Signal No. 3 is hoisted over the rest of Sorsogon, the northern portion of Masbate including Ticao Island, the rest of Zambales, Romblon, the rest of Occidental Mindoro, the rest of Oriental Mindoro, Tarlac, the southern portion of Nueva Ecija, the central portion of Aurora, and Northern Samar.
The center of the typhoon is moving towards the Marinduque-Southern Quezon area this afternoon.
Between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, the center of the eye of “Rolly” will be located around 70 km south of Metro Manila.
“Rolly” is forecast to exit the mainland Luzon landmass and emerge over the Philippine Sea between tonight and early tomorrow morning.
During its traverse of Southern Luzon, it is forecast to slightly weaken but will emerge as a typhoon over the West Philippine Sea. – CGC
