The Summerlympics 2025 officially kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony at Pantawan, Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete City June 1.
It was a celebration of unity, energy, and youth empowerment, bringing together youth and youth-serving organizations and sangguniang kabataan from across the city.
The participating teams will compete in various sports events, like basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, pickleball, chess, and Dumaguete Olympiad every weekend this month.
Summerlympics 2025 is organized by the city government of Dumaguete through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), and Local Youth Development Council Dumaguete City, in partnership with the City Sports and Youth Development Office, Negros Oriental Federation JPIA, and the Red Cross Youth-Negros Oriental.
The youth will gather not only to compete, but to connect, have fun, and aim for victory, the city said, adding that sports foster teamwork, camaraderie, and a strong sense of community, all while encouraging a healthy lifestyle. ||
