The validity of Social Security System-issued Land Bank of the Philippines checks has been extended up to 180 days from the date of issuance.

This was after the LBP granted the request of SSS to extend the validity of the checks, generated from July to December 2020, that are initially valid for 90 days only.

SSS president and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said in a statement today that the initiative aims to provide its members with more time to encash the benefit and loan checks they might have received late due to restrictions amid the COVID-19 situation.

The LBP informed the SSS it has already requested member banks to accommodate the checks.

The LBP also earlier granted the SSS request to extend the validity of checks generated from February to June 2020 from the existing 90 days to 180 days from their issue date.
