A female employee of the Social Security System in Bacolod City has been infected with COVID-19, prompting the agency to suspend its services for two days to disinfect the whole building.
Charissa Avila, SSS regional communications officer, said the concerned employee was assigned in the first floor of the building and part of her tasks is the routing of documents to the offices, the reason why all 160 employees from the first to fourth floors were told to work from home in the next two days.
The close contacts of the concerned employee were already notified to undergo swab testing, while the office is being sanitized.
Avila said around 180 clients are being entertained by SSS everyday, and clarified that the infected employee is not a frontline staff, who normally attends to concerns of SSS members.
The management advised those with confirmed online transactions for Jan. 19-20 that SSS will resume its services on Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – MML
