Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez urged his colleagues and staff of the House of Representatives Dec. 2 to embrace the holiday season with gratitude, reflection, and a spirit of giving, while acknowledging their vital contributions to the institution and the nation.
At the House’s flag-raising ceremony, Romualdez highlighted the importance of taking time to appreciate life’s blessings and giving back to those in need.
“As Christmas draws near, we’re reminded that this season is not just about celebrations, but about reflection, gratitude, and the spirit of giving,” the Speaker said in a press release from his office. “It’s a time to pause and appreciate what truly matters—our families, our friends, and the opportunities we’ve had to serve others.”
The leader of the 307-strong House of Representatives urged his colleagues and the entire legislative workforce to extend their generosity to less fortunate Filipinos, especially those impacted by recent calamities and tragedies.
He urged everyone to engage in meaningful acts of kindness, whether through small gestures or organized efforts to support those in need.
He also extended heartfelt thanks to the House employees, praising their unwavering dedication and behind-the-scenes work.
Romualdez reminded the men and women of the legislative chamber to focus on self-care and spending time with their families during the holidays.
He assured employees that their contributions have been noticed and appreciated. “As we celebrate this Christmas season, let’s do so with joy in our hearts, generosity in our actions, and a renewed sense of purpose.” ||
