The Sangguniang Panlungsod ratified March 20 the contracts of service (COS) of 47 medical personnel until June 30 this year, as well as the memoranda of agreement with 100 barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) for the whole of 2025.
The 17 medical officers, assigned at the City Health Office, and Lying-in Clinic and Birthing Home Center, shall be paid a monthly rate of P63,997 as actual services to the city government of Bacolod and a monthly hazard pay of 13 percent of the rate, or P8,319.61.
Each of the 22 nurses shall be paid P36,619 a month, and hazard pay of P9,154.75, or 25 percent of the monthly rate.
The radiologic/medical technologists shall be paid P27,000 a month, and hazard pay of P6,750, or 25 percent of their monthly salary, while the midwives shall receive monthly wage of P21,211, and hazard pay of P5,302.75.
These medical personnel, who started working for the city on Jan. 1, are not entitled to benefits enjoyed by regular government employees, such as ACA, PERA, RATA, midyear bonus, productivity incentive, Christmas bonus, cash gifts, and such other benefits, as per their contracts.
Meanwhile, each of the 100 BNS, deployed to various barangays of Bacolod, shall be paid P7,000 a month, and may be entitled to additional incentives and compensation for other expenses that may be incurred.
They shall also be covered by the health program of the local government and granted membership, with their contributions to be paid by the city.
The BNS, hired until the end of this year, shall assist in the conduct of Operation Timbang Plus, reweighing of identified underweight preschoolers, supplementary feeding to identified malnourished children, and assist in the implementation of programs of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition, among others. | CGC
