Former Bacolod councilor Bartolome Orola Sr. has been designated the focal person of the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) on all programs, projects, and activities affecting the elderly in the highly-urbanized city.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod has authorized Mayor Greg Gasataya to sign the contracts of service (COS) of Orola, Natividad Asentista, and Israel Mark Gonzales.

Their COS will be until Dec. 31 this year.

Orola, who will be paid a monthly rate of P50,000, is tasked to also identify programs, projects, and activities that will enhance the role and importance of senior citizens in nation building; and implement programs and projects of senior citizens to ensure the availment and maximization of benefits of every senior citizen under Republic Act 9994, or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act, as amended, among others.

Asentista was contracted to coordinate with the Internal Audit Service in the audit planning, execution, and reporting to align with the priorities of the mayor, and to render timely and proactive technical assistance for smooth coordination and delivery of internal audit-related functions.

She will be paid P45,000 a month.

Gonzales, on the other hand, will be paid a monthly rate of P60,000 for the landscaping and beautification of designated areas within Bacolod, including the median islands, and off-road areas, like parks, plazas, and roadsides.

He shall also ensure the regular and consistent maintenance of all landscaped areas for the duration of his COS, including watering, weeding, pruning, pest control, and replacement of dead or diseased plants. | CGC
