Solo parents, CDWs get cash assistance

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office spearheaded the distribution of livelihood assistance to solo parents, and subsidies for retired child development workers (CDWs), worth a total of P360,000, at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, Feb. 24.

Thirty-four solo parent beneficiaries received P5,000 each, while 19 retired CDWs got P10,000 each, from Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and PSWDO personnel during the activity.

Lacson expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the solo parents and CDWs for their contributions and commitment to shaping the future of children and the positive impact they make in the communities to which they belong.

The governor also turned over a check for P10 million to San Carlos Mayor Renato Gustilo last week, for the improvement of the city’s Sports Center Badminton Court.

The assistance from the provincial government aims to support sports and youth development, as well as promote physical fitness activities in San Carlos, the Capitol said.

Sixty provincial scholars from the municipality of Manapla also received educational assistance of P3,000 each recently. ||
