Eighty-nine volunteer-employees of San Miguel Brewery took part in a recent coastal cleanup activity at Purok Masipag, Barangay Punta Taytay, Bacolod City, collecting a total of 1,224 kilos of trash from the shoreline.
The initiative was in coordination with the Bacolod City Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), reflecting the company’s continuing commitment to environmental stewardship and community partnership in the areas where it operates.
The cleanup drive forms part of the global observance of International Coastal Cleanup in September, held under the theme “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities.”

The theme underscores the link between healthy marine ecosystems and the resilience of coastal communities, particularly in the face of pollution and the impacts of climate change.
By mobilizing its own workforce as volunteers, San Miguel Brewery aims to inspire broader community participation in protecting local waterways and coastlines, which remain vital to the livelihood and well-being of residents in Bacolod City and beyond.
The activity is one of several sustainability initiatives SMB continues to pursue across its operations nationwide, in line with its broader environmental agenda. ||
