SM Bacolod hosts MassKara events

SM City Bacolod has pulled out all the stops for a “most aweSM MassKara Festival”, with highlight events set to unfold next week.

The Miss Bacolod MassKara Corporate Day will be held tomorrow, Oct. 13, starting at 5 p.m., at the Main Atrium, where the 15 candidates are set to sashay in the SM runway. On Oct. 1, SM also hosted the official sashing ceremony.

The “So Rad! Bike and Skate Away at the MassKarad”, will be held this weekend, Oct. 14-15, at the North Transport Hub.

The K-Pop fever is also expected to invade the mall this Saturday, as enthusiasts and mall goers are set to experience a night filled with the pulsating beats of K-pop, and mesmerizing K-dance performances, while immersing in the vibrant world of Korean culture.

“Put on your best K-inspired outfits, bring your friends, and let’s light up the night together and party with these K-pop sensations on Oct. 14, from 6 p.m. onwards,” the mall said in a press release.

The Bacolod trade fair, meanwhile, will open on Oct. 16, up until Oct. 21, at the North Wing. All the best products of the city from local small and medium enterprises are will be under one roof, the mall said.

A must-experience is the concert of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Main Atrium. “Experience elegance and musicality like no other from these world-class performers for free. Brought to the public by the City of Bacolod, the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, and SM City Bacolod, it is a rare treat to hear the country’s top musical ensembles in the Asia-Pacific region here in our City.”

The Inasal Food Festival will also make a comeback at the Manokan Country, on Oct. 20-22. Still part of the battle cry to support local entrepreneurs, the highlight of the food festival is Bacolod’s famous grilled chicken inasal.

Over at The Art Cove, Park Inn/SM North Wing, 14 colorful masks, each intricately designed and produced by Jjo Vito, are currently on display, ushering in the 2023 MassKara Festival. Each “Festive Faces” mask presents a different smile and its own colorful vibe, all ready for the festivities and a very fitting way to usher in Bacolod’s biggest festival, the mall said.

Other events at the mall include the AweSM Eras Tour, Oct. 13 onwards, at SM Cinema; Bee Happy with Jollibee, Oct. 20, Main Atrium; Japanese vlogger and actor Fumiya of Pinoy Big Brother fame will hold a mall show, Oct. 20, Main Atrium; and a mall show with Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo, Oct. 21, also at the Main Atrium, among others. |
