The Sitio Maradula cluster of Barangay Concepcion and Don Hilarion G. Gonzaga Memorial High School won as champion in this year’s street-dancing and dance drama competition, a highlight activity of Talisay City’s 24th Minulu-an Festival.
The group also took home a host of special awards, including Best in Street Dance, Best in Fight Scene, Best in Production Design, Best in Arena Dance Drama Performance, Best in Costume, and Best in Choreography; as well as minor awards like Best Costume Designer, Best Lead Banner, Best Kapitan Sabi in Character, Best Production Designer, Most Disciplined Cluster, and Best Choreographer, the city Public Information Office said.
The Sitio Sana-aw cluster of barangays Zone 14B, 6, 7, 11, 14A, 16, and San Fernando was first runner-up, while Sitio Sinalampok, composed of Barangay Cabatangan and Don Hilarion G. Gonzaga Memorial High School-Extension was second runner-up.
The top three winners bagged P100,000, P65,000, and P55,000 in cash prizes, respectively, the city PIO said Sunday.
A consolation prize of P30,000 each was received by Sitios Busang, Dagyaw, Panakayon, Kalig-on, and Azul, with the latter also awarded as Best in Rhythm.
