The ban on non-essential travel to Sipalay City will be lifted effective Nov. 1, while tourists can visit the city again starting Nov. 6.
Sipalay City Mayor Gina Montilla-Lizares has issued an executive order last Oct. 30 lifting the ban.
Accommodation establishments are only allowed to accept non-resident tourists who will comply with the requirements set by the city government, the order said.
Dive schools will also be allowed to accept enrollees who tested negative in their RT-PCR test conducted within five days from the date of swabbing.
The mayor added all incoming tourists are directed to accomplish the Online Tourist Registration Form (tinyurl.com/Sipalay).
The decline in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sipalay City prompted the LGU to lift the ban on non-essential and tourism-related travel.
The ban on travel to Sipalay City initially started on Aug. 14 until 31, but had been extended many times since.
Sipalay City remains under Modified General Community Quarantine status.
Lizares reminded residents and non-residents to strictly adhere to mandatory health protocols such as wearing of face mask and face shield, and observe physical distancing. GPB
