Bacolod will soon welcome the first Singapore international school in the entire Negros Island Region and Western Visayas, marking a major milestone in the city’s educational landscape.

Singapore School Philippines, one of only two institutions in the country offering the world-renowned Singaporean curriculum, and property giant Megaworld, have entered into a strategic partnership for the establishment of Singapore School Bacolod in Northill Gateway – the company’s 53-hectare township located along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road.

The new campus will offer a comprehensive educational pathway, including the Singaporean curriculum for preschool, primary, and lower secondary levels, as well as globally-recognized university qualifications, such as the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for upper secondary and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for pre-university.

Singapore School Philippines, one of only two institutions in the country offering the world-renowned Singaporean curriculum, will soon rise at Megaworld’s 53-hectare Northill Gateway along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road.

Singapore School Philippines currently operates campuses in Manila, Clark in Pampanga, Silang in Cavite, and Cebu, bringing decades of expertise in delivering internationally benchmarked education programs.

The Bacolod campus marks its first expansion in the Negros Island Region and in Western Visayas, reinforcing its commitment to making world-class education accessible to more Filipino families.

“Northill Gateway offers excellent infrastructure that supports the learning and community building environment we envision. It is fitting that Singapore School pupils grow in a modern, holistic environment that sparks innovation, practices sustainability, and fosters a lifestyle of art, slow food, and movement,” Trixie Suarez, president of Singapore School Bacolod, said in a statement Nov. 19.

“By finding a home in this Megaworld township, the school can play its part in responding to the growing need for quality, relevant international education: nurturing global citizens who think critically, act compassionately, and help shape a better Philippines and world,” she added.

Singapore School Bacolod will have direct access to Northill Parade, home to a vibrant mix of retail and dining brands, including McDonald’s, and soon Denny’s, JT’s Manukan, and Adidas, among others.

The school will also be within walking distance of premier residential developments, such as Forbes Hill and Fountain Grove, offering families convenient access to high-quality living spaces in secure, thoughtfully designed neighborhoods.

“Northill Gateway is envisioned as a dynamic, master-planned lifestyle township, and the arrival of Singapore School Bacolod is a significant step toward bringing this vision to life. Surrounded by scenic views of the mountains and sunsets, the township provides an inspiring backdrop for learners, enhancing the overall learning experience,” Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, said. ||
