A seawall and a viewing deck are among the development projects being eyed in Barangay Balaring, Silay City in Negros Occidental, all worth more than P500 million.
The local government adopted several resolutions of the Silay City Development Council approving amendments to the 2023 Annual Investment Plan (AIP), including the proposed construction of a seawall in Balaring, worth P281.5 million, to be sourced from the Department of Budget and Management and other concerned agencies; and P251.5 million for a sunset boulevard viewing deck, also in the barangay.
Also included in the proposed viewing deck project are parking areas, comfort rooms, biking lanes, family promenades, and recreational zones, the city said in Resolution 23-168 now pending deliberations by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The city is also planning to widen the road, from Balaring Bridge to Edgewater, with project cost of P60 million.
The city is likewise seeking the approval of the Negros Occidental SP on its Appropriation Ordinance 5-2023 on the General Fund Supplemental Budget No. 5, amounting to P23.5 million; and three resolutions on amendments to this year’s AIP to include several programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), all worth more than P380 million, and to be sourced from the DBM and other related national government agencies, or chargeable against the Special Trust Fund and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund./CGC
