An elderly man was shot to death by two unidentified assailants in Barangay Bagtic, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Feb. 14.
The victim, 63, a resident of Hacienda Bias 1 in Barangay Guimbalaon, succumbed to head and stomach injuries.
The police reported that he has been declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital also in Silay City.
Initial investigation showed the victim was on his way to Hacienda San Isidro when he was waylaid by the assailants and was shot by one of them using a caliber .45 pistol.
On the same day, a heated argument led to a stabbing incident in Barangay Agpangi, Calatrava, where the suspect is the father of the victim.
Investigation showed the suspect and his wife were having dinner when their 36-year-old son, who was drunk, arrived home.
The victim created trouble and threatened to kill his parents, which later led to a stabbing incident, according to the police.
The victim, who suffered injuries in his right side and left forearm, is being treated at the Calatrava Municipal Hospital while the suspect is under the police custody. | GB
