A senior citizen, and two other individuals were arrested by the police Saturday, March 11, in Negros Occidental in buy-bust operations that also yielded about P150,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, with local policemen, nabbed Rovener Nemenzo, 61, during a buy-bust operation Saturday in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City.

The apprehension of Nemenzo, alias Nene Panggoy, yielded about 20 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P136,000, and P500 in marked money.
Another drug-bust operation in Purok Lerio, Brgy. Zone 6, Talisay City, also led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified by the police as Romeo Distrito, 52, and the recovery of about two grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P13,600, and P500 in buy-bust money.
Policemen also arrested Erwin Trestiza, 27, at a checkpoint in Sitio Overflow, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, for illegal possession of firearm.
A caliber 45 pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition was recovered from Trestiza, who is now detained at the Kabankalan City police custodial facility./GB
