The Dumaguete Local School Board, chaired by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, approved several funding requests to promote the welfare of students and faculty in public schools.
Among those approved during the School Board’s meeting March 24 were P10 million for water and electricity, P112,000 for the Korean Language Program, and the electrical rewiring at City Central Elementary School and Calindagan Elementary School, P1 million.
Also approved in principle and subject to the availability of funds are the proposed soil testing and construction of a three-storey, 15-classroom school building at Junob National High School, worth P50.1 million; construction of a wellness center for Taclobo High School, P1 million;

Provision of an overhead stainless steel water tank for the three-storey six-classroom school building at Camanjac High School at P1.6 million, procurement of equipment for grades 4 to 12 in public schools at P3.5 million, and acquisition of sports equipment for gymnastics and wushu.
These projects are in addition to the ongoing construction of school buildings and upgrade of facilities in seven public schools for additional 46 classrooms to address the shortage and benefitting hundreds of learners and teachers, totaling P81.4 million, and sourced from the Special Education Fund, the city said. ||
