A 22-year-old Agricultural Business graduate from San Carlos City is the new president of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation in Negros Occidental.

Mayvelyn Madrid, the SK chairperson of Barangay 5 in the northern Negros city, ran unopposed during the election held in Bacolod City Wednesday, Nov. 29.

She will succeed Pocholo Yuvienco, who also resides in the same city, and served as SK Federation provincial president for five years.

Madrid will also sit as an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan starting next week.

After the election, Madrid and the other newly-elected SK Federation provincial officers took their oath of office before Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Provincial Capitol.
