About 600 residents of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental received financial assistance from the offices of senators Pia and Alan Peter Cayetano, through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program July 13, at the city auditorium.

AICS is one of the social services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that offers medical, burial, transportation, educational, nutritional, and financial assistance to individuals and families in need.

The DSWD led in distributing a total of P1,800,000 to barangay health workers, job order employees, football coaches, and traffic enforcers, who received P3,000 each, the city said in a press release.
