The city government of San Carlos blessed and turned over a two-storey, four-classroom building, worth P6.4 million, to the Department of Education at Medina Integrated School in Brgy. Rizal March 26.
The project was funded through the Special Education Fund (SEF) 2024, started construction Sept. 10 last year and was completed March 3 under the supervision of Engr. John Leur Virtucio of the City Engineering Department.
Mayor Renato Gustilo said the city could build more classroom buildings because every year, they allocate a budget thru the SEF for schoolchildren’s welfare, especially their education.

The SEF fund is sourced from the real property tax paid by taxpayers to the city every year.
Assistant schools division superintendent Heidelyn Geromiano thanked the city government, adding that classroom building construction is one of Gustilo’s legacies; she stressed that it is everybody’s obligation to provide a good future for children.
Medina Integrated School principal Vilma Quezon said the new school building will be used for grades 7 and 10 at the opening of classes in June. She thanked the local government officials for answering their request.
Rev. Fr. Antonio Canumay, parish priest of St. Vincent de Paul Quasi Parish of Barangay Rizal, blessed the facility, with City Engineer Rexter Nemenzo, punong barangay Herlanie Hisman, kagawads, Public School District Supervisor Cluster 2 Gerardo Limpio, PTA president Joan Omblero, and other school personnel and staff in attendance, the city said. ||
