San Carlos City generated P774.45 million in locally sourced revenues in 2025, the highest among Negros Occidental’s 12 component cities, according to the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Region 6.

Mayor Renato Gustilo said the figures reflect the city’s revenue-generating capacity, supported by its agro-industrial sector, expanding investments and city-operated enterprises, including the city hospital and city waterworks department.

He added that the revenues come from local taxes, fees, service charges and income-generating enterprises that help finance public services, infrastructure and development programs.

San Carlos’ collections were more than three times those of Talisay City, which ranked second with P244.80 million, and Cadiz City, which placed third with P234.02 million.

Sagay City followed with P226.28 million; Bago City, P225.03 million; and Silay City, P221.19 million.

The remaining component cities posted revenues ranging from P205.19 million in Victorias to P41.78 million in Himamaylan.

Bacolod City, a highly urbanized city, separately reported about P1.87 billion in locally sourced revenues. | GPB
