San Carlos City earned multiple awards during the Panaad Festival’s Agri-Abanse Pasidungog Day 2026 April 19, at the Panaad Park OPA-Organic Village in Bacolod City.
The city was recognized as an Outstanding Implementer in both the Masagana Rice Industry Development Program and the High Value Crops Development Program.
The Anahaw, Lagha, Lupao, and Habuyo Farmers Association Inc. also received recognition for Best Fish Management and Production Project while the Nataban Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organic Farmers Association was named Outstanding Corn Farmer Association.

Local rice focal person Verney Briones was also recognized as an Outstanding Rice Agricultural Extension Worker and Best Performer Report Officer; and Quezon Codcod Rice-Based Agriculture Cooperative treasurer Mercedita Supangan was honored as an Outstanding Rice Farmer, the city said in a press release.
The awarding was led by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, DA-NIR regional executive director Jose Albert Barrogo, and Agricultural Training Institute Region VI center director Mary Ann Ramos. ||
