San Carlos holds Pasko sa Dakbayan

San Carlos City in Negros Occidental officially kicked off its Pasko sa Dakbayan celebrations with a dazzling lights-on ceremony at Rizal Square, public plaza recently.

The city’s Disney-inspired Christmas decorations, adorned with vibrant lights, illuminated the City Hall, public plaza, and major streets and landmarks, captivating residents and visitors alike.

The theme, “Every wish deserves a dream—and believing in it brings the magic to life!” celebrates the magic of dreams and wishes, spreading holiday cheer throughout the San Carlos, the city said Nov. 30.

The ceremony featured performances from local talents through the Pintaflores Dance Company and the San Carlos City Chamber Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Mayor Renato Gustilo thanked all city officials and those involved in making the event a success. “Christmas is a time for gratitude and togetherness. We hope that these celebrations bring joy and happiness to our community.”

Along with the ceremony, a food bazaar also opened at Bonifacio Square for attendees to enjoy.

The event was also attended by Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, councilors Armando Laguda Jr., Alfredo Martin Cui, Benito Gustilo, Victoriana Cabili, Koki Uy, Carlos Manuel Valmayor, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Mark Cui, and Marydawn Cañetan, local and national department heads, Atty.
