The entire police force of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental underwent random drug testing on Dec. 11.

The drug testing aims to ensure that the city police station is drug-free, according to the Philippine National Police.

Non-uniformed personnel assigned at the San Carlos City Police Station were not spared from drug testing, police chief Lt.Col. Nazzer Canja said in a statement.

Similar random drug testing were also conducted last year among the city police personnel, which also yielded a negative result.

Police officers tested positive for use of illegal drugs may face dismissal from the service.

Canja said the conduct of drug testing among members of the city police force is being held annually. | GB
