San Carlos cops get guns, ammo

The San Carlos City government turned over guns, ammunition and other equipment, all worth P1,038,400, to the local Philippine National Police Jan. 13 at the City Mayor’s Office.

These include 35,200 pieces of 9mm ammunition, five M4 assault rifles, F5-DGIS (Direct Gas Impingement System) firing selector, safe, semi-automatic, fully automatic Operating Platform: Direct Gas Impingement, caliber 5.56 NATO (5.56x45mm), compatible with both M855 and M193 ammunitions, and barrel length with choices of 10.5 inches, 11.5 inches, and 14.5 inches.

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo and Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona handed over the items to acting San Carlos City police chief, Lt. Col. Jesus Mesahon, along with acting Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office director, Col. Leo Pamittan, 1Lt. Roby Aurita – deputy for administration, Lt. Col. Wilfredo Abordo – deputy provincial director for administration, and 1Lt. Janrey Estuaria, a press release from the city said.

Councilors Carlos Manuel Valmayor, Benito Gustilo Jr., Jose Carlos Villarante, Wilmer Yap, Lorna Hinolan, Jeffey Hidalgo, Philip Gerard Masiog, Mark Cui, and JB Spring Bacurnay witnessed the turnover ceremony. | NND
