Thousands of devotees filled the Kabankalan public plaza and surrounding streets as the 50th Sinulog sa Kabankalan officially opened Jan. 9, with a novena mass and the traditional sad-sad procession in honor of Señor Santo Niño.
From the solemn novena mass led by Bishop Louie Galbines of the Diocese of Kabankalan, to the joyful street procession, devotees expressed their prayers and thanksgiving through rhythmic dance and drumbeats, turning the city into a powerful display of faith and devotion.


Mayor Benjie Miranda, alongside Vice Mayor Divina Miranda, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Atty. Mac Lord Zafra, city administrator, were present to express their faith and devotion, the city said in a press release Jan. 10.
