Several temporary road closures will be implemented in downtown Bacolod and nearby areas next week, in line with the Holy Week observance.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved April 8 the request of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church for the partial closure of 27 Circumferential Road in Barangay Bata, from 4 p.m. on April 14 to midnight of April 17, and full road closure from 5 p.m. to midnight on April 18.
The Bata Parish Youth Ministry, in partnership with Sentro Entablado, will hold “Gugma 2025: Live Stage Play” of Christ’s Paschal Mystery – His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, on Good Friday, April 18, at 8 p.m., fronting the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church, hence the request.
The SP also approved the request of the San Sebastian Parish Pastoral Council for the temporary closures of Rizal-Gatuslao streets to Rizal-San Juan streets, for the Chrism mass on April 17, from 8-11 a.m.; Rizal, Lacson, Hernaez, Araneta, Gonzaga, and Gatuslao streets, from 5-7 p.m. on Good Friday, for the Lenten procession;
Rizal, San Juan, Luzuriaga, Araneta, Gonzaga, and Gatuslao streets, starting at 7 p.m. on Black Saturday, for the Soledad procession; and from Lupit Church, Lizares Street, Araneta, Gonzaga, San Juan, and Rizal streets; and from 888 Street, Burgos, Lacson, and Rizal streets on Easter Sunday, April 20, starting at 4 a.m., for the Encuentro procession. | CGC
