Remnants of the New People’s Army (NPA) killed a former government force multiplier in Barangay Makilignit, Isabela, Negros Occidental on June 16.
In a statement, the Leonardo Panaligan Command said the victim, Henry Pracio, was working with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police in counterinsurgency operations.
The group also alleged that Pracio was a follower of Lydio Baylon, who headed a religious sect in central Negros, and linked him to several criminal activities.
The incident marked the latest in a string of attacks against civilians claimed by NPA units operating in Negros Occidental.
Earlier, the Romeo Nanta Command admitted responsibility for the killing of Marlo Galan in Barangay Bi-ao, Binalbagan on June 8.
Galan, a pastor and member of the barangay council, was accused by the rebel group of serving as an intelligence asset of the military.
The Roselyn Jean Pelle Command also claimed responsibility for the death of Momarlito Alingasa in Calatrava town on June 5.
It alleged that Alingasa was an informant for the Calatrava Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Army’s 79th Infantry Battalion. | GPB
