The New People’s Army (NPA) Leonardo Panaligan Command has claimed responsibility for killing a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) on Dec. 27 in Sitio Tulingon, Barangay Binobohan, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

In a statement, rebel spokesman Ka JB Regalado accused the victim, Sunnyboy Teves, as a very active informant of the Philippine Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion.

Teves entered the military service as a CAFGU member in 2011.

Regalado said that they confiscated a cellular phone from Teves, which contained valuable information.

He added that not all CAFGU members are targets for liquidation of the NPA as long as they are not involved in counter-revolutionary activities. | GB
